This season’s flu vaccinations have been available at GPs since September 1, but from October 1, those eligible will be able to get a jab from their local pharmacy.
The NHS said: “Flu vaccines are offered on the NHS every year in autumn or early winter to protect people at higher risk of getting seriously ill from flu and to reduce the spread.”

Who is eligible for a free flu vaccination at their local pharmacy?
The free flu vaccinations will be available in pharmacies across England and Swindon via appointment or walk-in for:
- Children aged 2 to 3 years
- Adults who are 18 years or over
The NHS website adds: “Most other children aged 17 and under will be offered vaccination at school, or can be vaccinated at their GP surgery or a community clinic.
“If you are not eligible to get a free flu vaccination, you may be able to pay for it at some pharmacies.”
